“when imagination is joined to common purpose”

OK, you heard the call, we’re to join the imagination to the common purpose . . . of turning out more than a few good sentences. Not that anyone needs such an exhortation, but surviving the actual experience of Italo Calvino’s “All at One Point” (in this case, pressed against jersey barriers at the intersection of 14th and Independence Avenue) has moved some syllables.

And, to answer the Google string, “Does GMU have a good writing program?”: clearly, yes.
